Sarah Handley – Compassionate Online Therapy Tailored to You

Welcome! I'm Sarah, a qualified psychotherapist with a Masters in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I offer online therapy sessions to clients across the UK, designed to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your feelings, challenges, and goals. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, stress, self-esteem, or simply looking for someone to listen, I'm here to help.

Feeling overwhelmed, anxious or stuck?

You might be finding it hard to switch off, constantly worrying, or feeling like your thoughts are on a loop. Perhaps you’re coping on the outside, but inside everything feels heavy or chaotic.

Therapy can offer a space to slow things down, make sense of what’s going on, and begin to feel more steady and in control again.

Struggling with confidence, self-esteem or how you see yourself?

If you’re often self-critical, comparing yourself to others, or feeling “not good enough”, you’re not alone. Many people carry these beliefs quietly for years.

In therapy, we can gently explore where these feelings come from and work towards building a kinder, more supportive relationship with yourself.

Going through a difficult change or emotional experience?

This might be a relationship ending, grief or loss, burnout, becoming a parent, or simply feeling disconnected from who you used to be.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You can come exactly as you are.

My Approach

My approach is a bit like a well-brewed cup of tea: warm, comforting, and tailored just for you.

I believe that meaningful change happens when people feel genuinely heard, accepted and safe enough to be themselves.

My way of working is collaborative rather than directive. You won’t be told what to think or how to feel. Instead, I aim to support you in exploring your experiences, understanding your patterns, and finding your own way forward.

As an integrative therapist, I draw on different therapeutic models depending on what feels most helpful for you. This means our work can be flexible, responsive and shaped around who you are as an individual, rather than following a rigid formula.

Some sessions might feel reflective and gentle. Others may be more practical or focused. All of them are grounded in respect, confidentiality and care.

I work in line with the NCPS Ethical Framework and regularly engage in supervision and continuous professional development to ensure safe, ethical practice.

I understand that seeking therapy can feel daunting, but I believe that taking this step is a powerful act of self-care. Embarking on therapy is a courageous step and my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported as we navigate your journey together.

So, whatever your experiences, I’m here to help you untangle the knots and find your way forward. And if we can share the occasional laugh along the way, all the better – therapy doesn’t always have to feel heavy!

Areas I commonly support clients with

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You don’t need a clear label or diagnosis to begin.

Alongside working with a wide range of emotional and life difficulties, I have particular experience supporting clients who are struggling with:

  • Body image concerns
  • Low self-esteem and confidence
  • Disordered eating patterns and difficult relationships with food
  • Shame and self-criticism
  • Feeling “not good enough” or stuck in comparison

These experiences often sit alongside anxiety, low mood, trauma or relationship difficulties, and are something I regularly explore with clients in a gentle, compassionate and non-judgemental way.

I also regularly work with:

  • Anxiety and chronic worry
  • Low mood and depression
  • Stress and burnout
  • Grief and loss
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Life transitions and identity changes
  • Feeling numb, disconnected or overwhelmed
